What Does The GentleWave Procedure Look Like?
Step 1
Once the patient’s tooth is properly numbed, the inside of the tooth is accessed via small hole created on the tooth’s biting surface.
Step 2
The GentleWave Procedure instrument is placed on the tooth, and the GentleWave system is activated to start cleaning. Patients might hear a whooshing sound. This is the sound of optimized procedure fluids flowing into and out of the tooth in a rapid manner. The fluid concentration is automatically adjusted to maximize efficiently and is degassed to prevent vapor lock, which is cruicial for the effective delivery of the fluid.
Step 3
The proprietary fluid dynamic technology of the GentleWave system creates a cascade of multisonic energy inside the tooth to loosen up debris in the most remote areas of the root canal system.
Step 4
The fluid, along with debris and bacteria, is vacuumed out of the GentleWave Procedure instrument’s outflow port, leaving the inside of the tooth spotlessly clean. Since the technology is designed to ensure negative preassure at the root end, fluid is kept inside the confines of the tooth to prevent any extrusion of solutions into the tissue outside the tooth.
Step 5
The doctor removes the GentleWave Procedure instrument from the tooth and fills the canal system with a permanent material to keep the root from becoming reinfected.
Step 6
The doctor either places a permanent restoration on the tooth or the patient returns to their dentist to final restoration.
